IT Support Officer – Service Provider – 1 x Suva

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to clients via phone, email, or in-person visits, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices for clients.
  • Manage and maintain the network infrastructure of clients, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, virus scans, and backups, to ensure the stability and security of client IT environments.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to resolve issues and implement new technology solutions for clients.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and IT policies and procedures for clients.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate clients on the use of hardware and software systems.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives for clients, as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of IT equipment and supplies for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and information security policies for clients.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Officer or similar role, preferably in a service provider environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, network security, and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and other enterprise-level systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Certifications

  • Diploma/Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • MCP – Server/Client
  • Related certificates – Firewall, Security, Networking would be an added advantage
  • Fiji citizen or permanent resident
  • Police clearance and clean driver’s license
